Steps

1. 1Start from the long-term outcome in beneficiaries' terms, not activity counts
2. 2Work backwards: preconditions required at each prior step
3. 3State EVERY assumption explicitly with evidence strength rating
4. 4Identify the riskiest assumption — that's your first evaluation target
5. 5Define indicators per link, mixing output + outcome measures
6. 6Review annually against reality; revise proudly, not reluctantly
